Prof. Billington presents at Stanford Sierra Camp
Prof. Billington is the Faculty Speaker in Weeks 9-10
Prof. Billington was invited to be the faculty speaker across Weeks 9-10 at the Stanford Sierra Camp in August. In her talk titled Sustainable Urban Futures: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Building for Wellbeing she spoke about the labs work on hybrid physical+digital spaces, affordable housing, and ethical supply chains. The campers in attendance ranged from high school students to Stanford Alumni who graduated in the 1960s. They were a great audience!
While spending the week at Fallen Leaf Lake with her family she had the opportunity to go on several beautiful hikes including to Glass Lake in the Desolation Wilderness, swim in Fallen Leaf Lake, learn how to oil paint, hear about the stars on the 10pm “Astrocruise", learn about the local nature and native communities, and meet some amazing Stanford undergrads who staffed the camp (including the wonderful “Tree”-to-be for AY25-26!).
