Lab’s research on geochemical fingerprinting of cement shared with archeologists

The Goldschmidt Conference is the foremost annual, international conference on geochemistry and related subjects, organized by the Geochemical Society and the European Association of Geochemistry. This year the conference was held in Montreal, Canada.

Antonio’s talk titled Geochemical Fingerprinting of Cements and Constituent Raw Materials for Supply Chain Transparency was part of a session on “Tracing the Past: Analytical, Isotopic and Geochemical Frontiers in the Archaeology of Metals and Earth Materials.” Most presenters in the session were archaeologists, so it was exciting to see how the same isotopic and elemental methods used to trace contemporary supply chains can also be used to reconstruct ancient trade routes!
